7:30 — La Madeleine
La Madeleine performs the music of Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel, Georges Moustaki, Gilles Vigneault and a variety of other French and French Canadian artists. The incomparable Madeleine St. Amant sings with an unaffected warmth and passion that get right to the heart of these timeless songs. Accompanying Madeleine at The Anonymous Coffee House will be Chip Harding on piano, guitar and backing vocals and Joe Harding on electric bass.
8:00 — Wheezer & Squeezer
Jeremiah McLane and Timothy Cummings (a.k.a. Wheezer & Squeezer) present an evening of music from the ‘Old Alliance’ between France and Scotland. Using accordion, bagpipe, whistle and voices, the duo creates a beguiling blend which utterly subverts the common stereotypes of their Old World instruments. Their repertoire includes dance tunes from Scotland, Central France and Brittany as well as French songs and original compositions reflecting North American influences.
9:00 — Mustard’s Retreat
Mustard's Retreat formed in Ann Arbor in 1974. Their performances are always joyful and uplifting, as well as thought provoking and insightful: a mix of songs and stories, old and new, that celebrate the common humanity and community that binds us all together.
